- The flats have plastic “polyorc” water pipes installed in the 1970’s. These are all now very brittle and several have burst in recent months. This has also highlighted problems with mains stop valves that had corroded and could not be turned off.
- External lighting around the garages was improved in August as the existing sensor lighting did not function properly.
- Following a water leak in block 13-18 repairs are now complete. Redecoration has taken place, the communal lighting has been repaired and new flooring laid.
- A preliminary fire risk assessment has been undertaken and there are a number of issues that have been addressed.
- An Asbestos survey will be commissioned as it is known that asbestos was used in the construction of the flats
- Railings have been erected next to the footpath between Kimmeridge Close and Charminster Close and to replace a wall that collapsed several years ago by block 13-18. A further short section of railing has been erected in the narrow gap between block 24-29 and 30-36. These railings close off these points of access to the rear of Kimmeridge Close making the site more secure.
